Sharon Duffy, MLIS, Research Services Librarian

LSU Health New Orleans Division of Libraries is excited to announce a new subscription to Cabells to assist authors with identifying reputable journals and accessing predatory publisher reports. We have subscribed to two of their products – Journalytics Medicine and Predatory Reports – to help with navigating the scholarly publishing landscape.

Journalytics Medicine features include:

  • Data rich records on over 9,000 medical journals to give insights into journal scope, publication practices, history, and quality
  • Access to their MedSci journal metric to gain the complete picture of a journal’s impact

Predatory Reports features include:

  • Largest database of predatory journals with information on over 17,000 predatory titles
  • Integration into Journalytics Medicine reports to identify every possible threat
  • Reports on misleading metrics, irregular publication practices, and other predatory characteristics
  • Details on every violation to provide transparent view of the investigated journal
