Participants will learn how, when and why developing checklists can be beneficial when teaching common procedural skills. The session will provide broad concepts applicable to clinicians and basic scientists engaged in education.

Rachel Walden, MS, ELS, presents a series of workshops related to scholarly writing hosted by the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery in collaboration with the Faculty Development Committee. Her talks will cover areas such as how to improve your skills as a writing coach when helping learners and junior faculty with writing projects, preparing for journal club by learning how to critique an article and discuss with colleagues and how to hone your skills as a reviewer for a journal.

Dr. Florencia Polite, a former faculty member at LSUHSC who is currently at University of Pennsylvania, will return to campus for the Daniels Lecture in the Department of Medicine. She will provide an additional workshop focused on mentorship in the morning prior to her grand rounds. Further details about her talk will be sent out in the Spring.
