Faculty Development and Evaluation Committee Highlights Faculty Development Article and Tiger Bites Podcasts
The Faculty Development and Evaluation Committee has posted an article with a synopsis from Chubinskaya and colleagues (2021) article titled “Connecting Faculty Productivity and Academic Advancement with Annual Performance Assessment by Using a Customized Faculty Management System” on their website.
The Committee also highlights two Tiger Bites Podcasts from Season 1. Tiger Bites was formed as a partnership between the Faculty Development Committee and the Office of Medical Education. After listening to a podcast, faculty can complete the brief evaluation at the end of the webpage to earn CME credits. This edition we are highlighting Episodes 1 and 2.
Both episodes were recorded by Dr. Richard DiCarlo shortly before he transitioned to the role of Interim Dean. In Episode 1, he outlines the importance of building your academic CV. He shares insights into what content belongs on your CV as well as what activities are important to include. In Episode 2, Dr. DiCarlo provides an overview of the promotions and tenure process at LSUHSC. He explains everything you need to know about the next steps on your journey toward academic advancement.
The Tiger Bites Team (Michelle Moore, Jay Mussell and Laura Bell) shared the following: "Our goal in creating these podcasts was to bring our LSUHSC community together with small bites of learning. They were designed to be the length of a typical commute around the New Orleans area and intentionally short and easy to digest. We hope you enjoy listening to them as much as we enjoyed creating them. Have an idea for a podcast that we haven’t covered? Please share your ideas with us at somfacultydevelopment@lsuhsc.edu.
