11th Annual LSU Quality Improvement (QI) and Patient Safety Forum Draws Widespread Participation
The Quality Improvement Forum (QI) held earlier this year had wide participation among medical students and house officers who gave 10 oral and 30 poster presentations. All three training programs were represented – New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and Lafayette.
Dr. John Heaton, President and Chief Medical Officer of LCMC Health, was the keynote speaker. Dr. Shannon Palumbo, Chair of the EQUIP Committee, and Ms. Julie Cain, EQUIP Coordinator, organized the event.
QI is an essential component to the clinical learning environment. These research activities and developments advance the practice of medicine and directly improve patient safety and care.
