13th Annual Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Forum Held
The 13th Annual Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Forum had wide participation among residents, fellows, students, and faculty and featured projects from the Schools of Medicine, Nursing, and Public Health. In total, there were six oral presentations and 36 poster presentations. Dr. Seth Krevat, the Senior Medical Director at the National Center for Human Factors in Healthcare gave the keynote presentation, Human Factors Essentials: Exploring the Foundations for Safe and Efficient Systems.
The annual forum is organized by the Enhancing Quality Improvement for Patients (EQuIP) Steering Committee. Chaired by Dr. Shannon Palombo, the EQuIP Steering Committee is responsible for promoting systems-based quality improvement education and initiatives within the School of Medicine. Quality Improvement is an essential component to the clinical learning environment. These research activities and developments advance the practice of medicine and directly improve patient safety and care.
