Cardiology
- The LSU cardiology team won the FIT Jeopardy Competition at the Louisiana Chapter of the American College of Cardiology in September 2019. They will compete at the ACC World Congress of Cardiology Battle of the States FIT Jeopardy Competition held in Chicago in March 2020. Pediatrics
- LSU Pediatrics Residents won the Meconium Cup at the American Academy Pediatrics Quiz Bowl recently at the AAP’s annual national conference held in New Orleans. The team was made up of the two chiefs, Jordan Lim and Monica Hajirawala, PGY-3 resident Tyler Kingdon and PGY-2 resident Casie James. Program Director Dr. Chelsey Sandlin was also there to introduce and support her residents. The team competed against other Louisiana Pediatrics Residency Programs, LSU-Shreveport and Our Lady of the Lake. The group also appeared on the front page of AAP News.
- In June, the 2018-2019 intern class named Casie James Intern of the Year. (Casie is now a 2nd year resident.)
- Tyler Kingdon, PGY-3, gave an oral presentation at the annual meeting of the Louisiana Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics back in August. The title of his presentation was A Case of Neonatal Herpes in the Setting of Maternal Herpes Mastitis.
