Faculty Assembly President 2019-2020
Dean Nelson was invited to the October Faculty Assembly where he was congratulated for receiving the 2019 Spirit of Charity Award. The assembly also thanked Dr. Nelson and Dr. Hollier for cost of living adjustment salary increases for faculty that became effective October 1st. Dr. Nelson updated the assembly regarding campus construction projects at CSRB, 1542 Tulane and the bridge across Tulane Avenue to UMC.
The searches for department chairs for internal medicine, anesthesia, and psychiatry were also discussed. Dr. Nelson also mentioned the launch of Research Café to help our researchers get grants and funding. Please see the minutes of the meeting for details.
In our November meeting, Dr. Rosalynn Martin, director of human resource management, updated the assembly on completed HRM projects which include:
- Performance Management Program for Unclassified Staff
- Position Management-Online Library of all Campus Position Descriptions (PER1s)
- Robust Applicant Tracking System-Unclassified, Faculty and Other Academic (PER2s)
- Online Background Check Process
- Online I-9/E-Verify Process
- In-House Professional Development Offerings.

- Online Onboarding-No more hire packets
- Classified Applicant Tracking System
- Campus-Wide Service Recognition Program Proposal
- Crisis Leave Bank Proposal
- Online Faculty Evaluations Proposal.
