Planning a Meeting

Definitions and Descriptions

Live Event
- An activity where the learner participates in real time. It is planned as an individual event and can be presented in person, virtually or hybrid via Zoom.
Regularly Scheduled Series
- An activity that is planned as a series with multiple sessions. They can be offered weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or quarterly. Can be provided in person, virtually, or hybrid via Zoom.
Activity Medical Director Planner
- A faculty member appointed to structure the activity via planning, conducting, and evaluating the event(s). They are also responsible for signing off on any financial mitigation needed for speakers of their events.
Planning Committe Members
- Anyone besides the Activity Medical Director that is involved in the planning and execution of the event, whether they be administration, resident, fellow, or faculty.
Needs Assessment and Identified Gap
- The process of gathering information to determine solutions to close the identified gaps in knowledge, competence, and/or performance. The gaps are what learners need to know and do that are not being fulfilled. This process allows activites to target the information needed to remedy these deficiencies.
