LSU Orthopaedics Welcomes Zahria Phillip as a New Assistant Business Manager
Please welcome Zahria Phillip to the Orthopaedic team. Zahria started today as our
new Assistant Business Manager.
A little about her:
Zahria Phillip graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a bachelor's
degree in Business Management. She is currently pursing a master’s degree in Healthcare
Administration. She brings experience in event coordination, budgeting, project and
account management, recruitment, and a plethora of other business office functions.
In her free time, she enjoys reading true crime stories and playing with her dog,
Bella.
The role of the assistant business manager is as follows:
Work with the Business Manager to establish, implement, and monitor systems to effectively
deal with the short and long term administrative and financial functions of the Department
of Orthopaedic Surgery. Actively participate in developing and maintaining systems
which will provide appropriate financial information and projections of sources of
income. This will include, but not be limited to, grant/contract administration (pre
and post award),accounting, purchasing, payroll, Health Care Network, LSU Foundation,
inventory control, immigration, safety and budget functions. Provide the department
head and faculty of the department with the necessary assistance and advice needed
to operate within the applicable Federal, State, and University rules, regulations
and guidelines. Serve as back-up in the absence of the Business Manager as necessary.
In English, that means she will support Sven and the department, with a focus on research
finances and we anticipate she will become a critical liason to the foundation as
well.
Welcome Zahria, The Department of Orthopaedics are thrilled to have you on our team!
