Welcome Dr Amit Bhandutia, our new spine doctor joining us in June!
"I am honored to come onboard to the LSU Department of Orthopaedics. I am looking forward to working alongside the faculty, residents and staff.
As a background, I grew up in southeastern PA. I completed my residency training at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA and have done two spine fellowships; at University of Maryland Medical Center/R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, MD and at Case Western Reserve University Hospitals - Cleveland Medical Center in Cleveland OH. I have also worked in private practice in New Jersey in both spine and general orthopaedics.
I enjoy caring for patients with spinal pathology. The decision making can be complex and the surgery can be technically demanding, but patients can stand to obtain great benefit from spine surgical intervention. I take pride in treating my patients like family, and I feel the most gratifying part of my job is returning patients to maximal function.
Outside of work, I enjoy travel, trying new food, reading, and weightlifting. My wife and I are excited to come to New Orleans and enjoy all that the city has to offer."
