LSU Orthopaedics Approved For Residency Complement Increase to 25!
LSU Orthopaedics has reason to be proud today, as we celebrate a major milestone in our history. The news of our approved residency complement increase to 25, allows us to match five residents per year, effective immediately. This is an incredible achievement that everyone on the team involved has worked tirelessly to secure.
Mike Hartman is acknowledged as the driving force behind the effort, and his hard work, diligence, and leadership have finally paid off. Along with Carter Clement, Linda Flot, and the entire team, they have achieved something truly exceptional.
The entire faculty, staff, and residency team are also to be commended for their efforts. Their dedication and hard work have been instrumental in making this achievement possible. Al Burgener, the department's new consultant, played a critical role, providing expertise and guidance throughout the process.
The GME office, led by Lee, Becky, and Charlie have all played an essential role in the department's success. The clinical partners, including Lafayette, OLOL, BROC, Kenner, CHNOLA, UMC/LCMC, and the VA, have likewise been crucial in achieving this major milestone.
The program has a lot of moving parts as of late, and we have yet to decide whether to match five residents this year or wait until the next. We are currently securing funding for this vision which has become an exciting reality. But for now, we can bask in the glory of this milestone day, knowing that everyone involved has achieved something remarkable.
Everyone involved in this achievement should take a moment to feel proud of their hard work and dedication. Congratulations to the entire team!
