Welcome to LSUHSC School of Medicine
Your Home for Faculty Development
At LSU Health Sciences Center, we aim to meet the needs of our faculty through a variety of resources and opportunities to help you succeed at all levels of your career. Our faculty teach, discover, train and practice across a myriad of areas from basic sciences to clinical sciences across academic medicine, and all work together collaboratively to meet the needs of our students, trainees, patients and colleagues. Given the range of specialties and services to the institution, our faculty development initiatives are developed with the current needs of the faculty in mind.
The Faculty Development webpages will provide you with information to help connect you with mentors who can provide guidance in your professional development as well as information about the promotions and tenure guidelines and expectations at LSUHSC. Our advancement workshops will help prepare you for the promotions process and answer commonly asked questions related to academic rank. We also invite you to listen in on our Tiger Bites podcast series, which were developed to provide faculty with micro-learning opportunities to complement our virtual and in-person workshops that are offered throughout the year.
Our Faculty Development homepage also serves as your connection to resources for teaching and research development in addition to information technology resources available on campus. Interwoven throughout the mission of our school is the importance of wellness for our faculty and opportunities for participation in activities related to diversity, equity and inclusion which have been deemed as essential elements to institutional culture and success.
We welcome any and all feedback from our faculty that helps us to meet the needs of our ever-changing environments, and we look forward to what the future holds when we work together.
