The LSU Medical Student Pediatric Interest Group (PIG) raised over 700 children's books (including more than 140 books written in Spanish) for the LSU Resident's Healthy Tigers Group. The books are given to children at their well visits to promote reading and literacy. Resident Kayla Griese joined PIG President Caroline Lawless and a few other medical students to deliver the books recently to the joint LSU/Tulane Academic Clinic.
Pediatric Intern Judston Robinson was awarded the Aesculapian Society's Excellence in Teaching L3 Intern Award. The Aesculapian Society at LSUHSC acknowledges an individual each year for their approachability, enthusiasm, and superior quality of instruction. He and the 11 other winners in their respective categories were honored at the Society's annual banquet.
