K-12 Students Motivation and Participation in choosing a career in STEM
The mission of STEM NOLA in partnership with LSU Health Sciences Center School of
Medicine, Office of Diversity & Community Engagement, is to engage students in grades
K-12 in activities that will prepare students for careers in the fields of Science,
Technology, Engineering, Math, and Medicine.
Activities for the STEM NOLA Medicine initiative comes from the Louisiana Department
of Education Science Standards.
High School STEM and Medicine
The third STEM NOLA was held at LSU Health Sciences Center on Saturday, April 9, 2022. Students were able to get valuable information on healthcare careers through interactions with our healthcare professionals and a presentation in the simulation lab.
Approximately 60 students have participated in STEM NOLA Medicine events to date.
