Clinical Curriculum
- During the two-year fellowship program, 50% of the program is devoted to direct outpatient and inpatient care activities,
including clinical case conferences and medical record reviews. Fellows receive a
balanced training in both pediatric and adult Allergy and Immunology at our two clinical
sites: Manning Family Children’s and University Medical Center.
- Fellows develop expertise in diagnosing and treating children and adults with suspected
inborn errors of immunity through our designation as a Jeffrey Modell Foundation Diagnostic
Center and our membership in the Primary Immune Deficiency Treatment Consortium.
- Outpatient Clinics
- First - and second-year fellows follow a block clinical schedule between our two clinical sites.
- Fellows develop expertise in performing and interpreting results for clinical procedures,
including allergen immunotherapy, drug desensitization, immediate hypersensitivity
skin testing, oral food and drug challenges, pulmonary function testing, and immunoglobulin
replacement.
- Fellows have the opportunity to participate in other attending faculty-led clinics:
- Adult Procedure Clinic
- Pediatric Multidisciplinary Eosinophilic Esophagitis Clinic
- Pediatric Multidisciplinary Severe Asthma Clinic
- Pediatric Oral Challenge Clinic
- Consultation Call
- Inpatient call responsibilities are evenly distributed between first - and second-year fellows. We are a consultation service only, and do not have an Allergy & Immunology inpatient service.
