Meet the Fellows
Nadjel Opamen, MD
Second Year Fellow
Nadjel Opamen is our second-year fellow, originally from Tubod Lanao del Norte, Philippines. She earned her undergraduate degree in Medical Technology from Velez College and her medical degree from the Cebu Institute of Medicine. She completed her internship at Baton Rouge General Medical Center and went on to finish her Internal Medicine residency at LSU Health Sciences Center in Lafayette. Outside of work, Nadjel enjoys spending time with her daughter, Elle and her husband, Jason, trying out new restaurants, and never saying no to a good plate of rice.
Chandler Cissel, MD
First Year Fellow
Chandler Cissel is our first-year fellow originally from Fort Lauderdale, Fl. He attended Duke University where he majored in Psychology while minoring in Biology and Child Policy Research. He then spent a year as a 5th grade teacher before starting medical school at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. After medical school, he moved to New Orleans for his pediatrics residency at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. In his free time, he enjoys exploring new coffee shops and breweries with family and friends!
Hope Retif, MD
First Year Fellow
Hope Retif is our first-year fellow from New Orleans, LA. She attended Vanderbilt University, where she earned dual majors in Economics and Spanish and a minor in Corporate Strategy. After a brief career in business, she pursued medicine at the University of New Orleans before earning her MD from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. She remained at LSU for her pediatric residency training. Hope has a special interest in serving Spanish-speaking communities and hopes to continue this work in her future practice as an allergist. Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Brandon, and their two sons, Elliot and parker. She also likes to stay active and explore local restaurants.
