Meet the Fellows
Meaghan Bank, MD
Second Year Fellow
Meaghan Bank is our second-year fellow originally from Palm City, FL. She obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of North Florida where she majored in Interdisciplinary Studies with a minor in Chemistry. She then went to the University of South Florida for her Masters in Biomedical Sciences. She completed her MD at Florida Atlantic University's Schmidt College of Medicine before matching into Internal Medicine-Pediatrics at Louisiana State University Health Sciences in New Orleans. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, cooking/trying out new recipes and being outdoors.
David Van, MD
Second Year Fellow
David Van is our second-year fellow originally from Atlanta, GA. He attended Georgia Institute of Technology where he dual majored in Biomedical Engineering and Business Administration, which sparked his interest in innovation and medical technology. He then moved to New Orleans where he completed a Masters in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Tulane University. He attended Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans for his MD and stayed for his residency in Internal Medicine. His specialty interest is allergic disease, and he aims to apply his background in engineering to the field of Allergy and Immunology after fellowship. In his free time, he enjoys restoring vintage automobiles, going to the park with his family, watching live music, and dining at the incredible local restaurants.
Nadjel Opamen, MD
First Year Fellow
Nadjel Opamen is our first-year fellow, originally from Tubod, Lanao del Norte, Philippines. She earned her undergraduate degree in Medical Technology from Velez College and her medical degree from the Cebu Institute of Medicine. She completed her internship at Baton Rouge General Medical Center and went on to finish her Internal Medicine residency at LSU Health Sciences Center in Lafayette. Outside of work, Nadjel enjoys spending time with her daughter, Elle, and her husband, Jason, trying out new restaurants, and never saying no to a good plate of rice!
