Research Interests
Research in Dr. Kozlowski's laboratory is primarily focused on the identification
of IgA antibody responses that prevent HIV infection. HIV vaccines that induce these
antibodies in secretions could prevent HIV transmission at mucosal surfaces or the
establishment of viral reservoirs in mucosal tissues. Studies in the lab involve
measuring the specificity and function of HIV-specific IgA generated in HIV-infected
individuals and in animals immunized with different vaccines.
