Ciera Singleton is currently a senior PhD student in the Department of Genetics at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from Xavier University of Louisiana in 2008 and then completed a Master's degree in Microbiology at Georgia State University in 2010. After working as a Microbiologist in Atlanta, Georgia for several years, Ciera returned to New Orleans to pursue a doctorate degree. She currently works in the laboratory of Dr. Judy Crabtree where she studies the role of the Notch signaling pathway in ER+ breast cancer in response to endocrine therapy. After graduation, she plans to pursue a postdoctoral fellowship in translational research where she hopes to utilize her basic sciences skills and gain clinical experience for the advancement of therapeutic discoveries in cancer treatment.
