Curriculum

Our fellows serve as primary care providers to patients in longitudinal continuity experiences throughout their year of fellowship, regardless of block rotation. Fellows have continuity patient panels in our Ambulatory Clinic and Nursing Home practices and are paired 1:1 with a preceptor for the entirety of the academic year in each of these settings. This helps to simulate what a future career would look like in these common areas of practice. A typical week for fellows is as follows:

Friday afternoons are reserved for educational sessions.

Rotations

Rotational experiences include inpatient geriatric trauma service, psychiatry, physical medicine and rehabilitation, Long Term Care experience, specialty clinics (Pain, Orthopedics, Urology, Neurology, Wound Care, Oncology) home care, hospice and other electives of choice. Four weeks of vacation are also provided. Longitudinal experiences include Home Care, nursing home, and primary care clinic. Fellows complete a research project prior to finishing the fellowship.
