Bio
Roy A. Kelly Jr. MD holds the position of Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Urology. He is the Chief of the Urology Service at Leonard J. Chabert Medical Center in Houma, and Site Director for the Chabert rotation of the combined LSU/Ochsner Urology Residency Program.
Dr. Kelly is a native of Louisiana. He was born in Baton Rouge, and grew up in Monroe. He graduated from LSU in Baton Rouge and LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans. He interned at Charity Hospital, and did his residency in Urology at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. He was in private practice in Jackson, Mississippi and LaPlace, Louisiana before taking the position of Chief of Urology at Chabert. After Katrina devastated Charity Hospital, the Charity rotation for the Urology residents was relocated to Houma, and he became Site Director.
Dr. Kelly is certified by the American Board of Urology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Urological Association and its Southeastern Section. He is a member of the Terrebonne Parish Medical Society, the Louisiana State Medical Society and The American Medical Association.
