Campus Health Guidelines (COVID19, Monkeypox)

As we are seeing an increasing number of monkeypox cases in our state and cities, we are also seeing more potential healthcare worker exposures, including medical students. If a student is potentially exposed, they will receive an email from LCMC health notifying them.

Here are the steps to follow:

  • You must check your email at least once daily as follow up to exposure is time sensitive.
  • You will be given the potential patient medical record number in the email. Please review any information to determine what your precise level (dates/times/duration/setting/route of potential exposure) may have been for that patient. Exposures could range from never having been in the room to face to face or skin contact with no mask or gloves for a significant duration of time, and anything in between.
  • If you believe that you have had a high-risk exposure, please use this link to report it: https://forms.office.com/r/AYNJzD5avW
  • Please use the reporting form to notify the LSU Health clinic. They will contact you after receiving the form to discuss next steps. Their phone number is 504-412-1995
All students should be consistently vigilant and careful about use of PPE including masks, gloves, face shields and gowns when indicated.

COVID-19

Dear LSUHealth New Orleans Community,

We want to reacquaint you with a resource for our faculty, staff and students that will help us gather information about potential exposures to COVID-19. For the health and well-being of those on our New Orleans campuses, we ask all members of the Health Sciences Center community who are under suspicion of or diagnosed with COVID-19, to self-report.

The form is available on our Coronavirus website. Here is a direct link to the landing page.

The Campus Clinic requests that you complete and submit the form before calling to arrange COVID-19 testing to allow them to provide you the best guidance. The Campus Clinic can also answer any questions you may have. You can reach them at 504-412-1995.

Thank you all for the contributions you continue to make and for your diligence in taking safety and preventive precautions. Stay safe!
