Radiology Fellowships
Since restarting our Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program, it was always our intention to reestablish fellowships that have trained scores of Louisiana's radiologists. Now that residency classes have been filled since July 1, 2012, and with the addition of new faculty who will bring additional expert knowledge in their fields, we are in a position to proceed with our plans.
Women's & Breast Imaging Fellowship
Our Women's & Breast Imaging Fellowship (non-accredited) was approved effective July 1, 2013 and Dr. Brooke Morrell is the program director. The training program combines 6 months of mammography with additional training in body cross sectional imaging, ultrasound, PET/CT, and interventional radiology. Musculoskeletal (MSK) Fellowship
The department is excited to announce that we have officially started the MSK Fellowship for the 2019-2020 Academic Year. The program is ACGME accredited and we accepted our first fellow in the 2020-2021 Academic Year. The training program includes routine radiography, computed tomography, ultrasonography, bone mineral density, radionuclide scintigraphy, magnetic resonance, arthrography, diagnostic/therapeutic injections, and image-guided percutaneous biopsy techniques. All fellows must engage in a scholarly project which must be submitted for publication or presented at departmental, institutional, local, regional, national, or international meetings. Neuroradiology Fellowship
The department is excited to announce that our Neuroradiology Fellowship officially started as an ACGME accredited program for the 2020-2021 Academic Year, with Dr. Doug Casey as the Program Director. The training program includes 9 months in general adult neuroradiology with additional training in Pediatric neuroradiology, Head and Neck radiology, Spine radiology and Vascular radiology. Body Imaging Fellowship
The Body Imaging Fellowship provides a broad range of advanced outpatient and inpatient abdominal imaging at our state of the art facility, including MRI, CT and US as well as fluoroscopic procedures. Additional experience in cardiac imaging and image guided abdominal procedures is also part of fellowship training that can be further enhanced with electives.
