Research Excellence
Research plays a pivotal role in advancing the field of pediatric nephrology, propelling the discipline forward and enhancing the treatment and care of neonates, children, and adults. This investigative work is not only fundamental to the progression of the field but also serves as a cornerstone for the professional growth of our nephrology fellows.
Scholarly Contributions:
To culminate their training, our fellows are tasked with the creation and authorship of a scholarly work. This requirement is a testament to their dedication and intellectual engagement and can involve a variety of investigative areas, encompassing basic science, clinical practice, translational research, health services, policy analysis, quality enhancement, or educational theory.
In addition to clinical training, the fellow will learn basic, translational, and clinical research principles and techniques and participate in the various scholarly activities of the division. The 36-month training period is equally divided between clinical training and scholarly activity/research in order to allow the fellow to develop proficiency in research and scholarly activity alongside clinical skills.
