Section Highlights

The LSU Section of Neonatology has grown to 14 members providing coverage to eight area NICUs in conjunction with four Tulane neonatology colleagues.  We continue to develop a statewide referral base for complex patients needing care at the Manning Family Children's Hospital NICU.  We are leading the LCMC system in quality improvement efforts in NICU care and standardizing a more systemwide approach to care.  We have an active fellowship education program with five current fellows.

Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship Program

Our division offers an accredited three-year training program, with positions available for two fellows each year. The program provides training and experience to prepare the participant for a career in Neonatology and certification by the American Board of Pediatrics Sub-board of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine. The program has been ACGME accredited since 1990.
