The Division of Neonatology provides inpatient care for sick infants at four local
hospitals, Manning Family Children's Hospital, Touro Infirmary, East Jefferson General
Hospital, Slidell Memorial Hospital and North Oaks Medical Center. The Children's
Hospital NICU serves as a referral center for infants with complicated problems from

Section Highlights
The LSU Section of Neonatology has grown to 14 members providing coverage to eight area NICUs in conjunction with four Tulane neonatology colleagues. We continue to develop a statewide referral base for complex patients needing care at the Manning Family Children's Hospital NICU. We are leading the LCMC system in quality improvement efforts in NICU care and standardizing a more systemwide approach to care. We have an active fellowship education program with five current fellows.
Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship Program
Our division offers an accredited three-year training program, with positions available for two fellows each year. The program provides training and experience to prepare the participant for a career in Neonatology and certification by the American Board of Pediatrics Sub-board of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine. The program has been ACGME accredited since 1990.
