Degrees
Dr. Leonard Bok earned his Medical degree in 1981 from Wayne State University, completed his residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, and was the first Angio-interventional Fellow at Henry Ford Hospital. He completed his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) at the University of South Florida and his Juris Doctorate (JD) at Northwestern University. During his MBA studies he focused in particular on services marketing and operations management. Approximately ten years later Dr. Bok’s JD program focused in particular on the legal theory of the firm and complex organizations. His analyses in law school included, “Theories of the Firm,” “Intellectual Property and the Learned Professions,” and “Advertising Professional Services.”
Bio
Dr. Bok believes strongly in the ACGME’s Competency based approach to graduate Radiology education with its emphasis on patient care, medical knowledge, practice based learning and improvement, emphasis on interpersonal and communication skills, professionalism, and systems based practice; and the associated outcomes based approach to graduate education with its emphasis on objective milestones in physician learning and development. Dr. Bok writes and lecture’s on the emerging use of Simulation in Graduate Medical Education. Drs. Robertson, Paige, and Bok recently edited and contributed to the book, Simulation in Radiology—the first book of its kind dedicated entirely to the field of Radiology education.
Dr. Bok completed two fellowships at LSU Health Sciences Center, one in Mammography and the other in Angio-interventional advances. He approaches every case with a simple philosophy—that patient care is a team sport. His is a comprehensive approach that utilizes expertise across all imaging modalities. With more than 20 years of experience, Dr. Bok is an expert in Vascular Interventional Radiology. He believes that continued education is critical to maintaining leading-edge skills. He places great importance on staying current with new technologies and approaches. Dr. Bok is board certified by the American Board of Radiology with CAQ in Vascular Interventional Radiology and is MQSA certified.
