Richard Dickey, MD

Dr Dickey has been Chief of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Louisiana State University Medical School in New Orleans since 1972 with a break for private practice.  Before LSU he held the same position at The Ohio State University from 1986 to 1972.  In 1976 he founded the Fertility Institute of New Orleans which created the first IVF pregnancy in the Gulf South in 1983, and has achieved more than 16,000 pregnancies under his Medical Directorship. He has authored more than 200 scientific papers, abstracts and book chapters. His manual Managing Contraceptive Pill Patients is in its 15^th edition.  His manual of office infertility treatment, published in 2010, has been translated into Chinese.  He been a member of FDA Medical Advisory Committees, and a Consultant for the  US Agency for International Development Population Program in Jamaica, Pakistan and the Philippines. He has served as Chairman of the Maternal and Child Health, Medical Education and Member Services Committees of the Louisiana State Medical Society.  He has received awards for his work on their behalf by the New Orleans Medical Society, Louisiana Public Health Association, and the American Society of Reproductive Medicine. His special interests safe use of advanced reproductive technology and early pregnancy loss.
