Bio
Dr. Silverii is a native to the bayou region, raised in Thibodaux, LA. She remained
local while earning a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Nicholls State University.
She attended medical school here at LSUHSC in New Orleans where her interest in Urology
and teaching began. She takes pride in her induction to both AOA and GHHS during medical
school. At graduation she was awarded the AOA George H. Karam Award in Teaching Excellence.
She then went on to complete her urology residency at the Medical University of South
Carolina in Charleston, SC where her love of education deepened. She was awarded a
Golden Apple Excellence in Teaching Award (voted on by MUSC medical students) for
Resident Teacher. Prior to graduation she was awarded the Thomas Alexander Kirkland
Excellence in Care Award (voted on by faculty). With a love for learning, teaching,
and pediatric urology, she elected to pursue fellowship in Pediatric Urology.
Dr. Silverii completed her training with a pediatric urology fellowship at Seattle
Children’s Hospital. Her fellowship research focused on development of a model for
surgical coaching at Seattle Children’s Hospital. This work resulted in national and
international presentations as well as publications. With her faculty mentor she served
as Co-PI for an Intuitive Foundation Human Performance Research Grant (2023-2024).
During her fellowship she completed additional training programs and received a Clinical
Teaching Certificate with the University of Washington (2024) as well as the AAMC
Medical Education Research Certificate Program (2024). Additionally, she completed
formal training and serves as a Certified Surgical Coach through the Academy for Surgical
Coaching (2023). Her interest in education scholarship further deepened and led to
participation in the ABMS Visiting Scholar Program (2024-2025). This ABMS and ABU
supported multi-institutional project is aimed at developing and evaluating an assessment
rubric for robot assisted laparoscopic pyeloplasty.
Dr. Silverii is so excited to return to Louisiana to care for the children of Louisiana
and train the next generation of medical students and urology residents at Manning
Family Children’s Hospital of New Orleans.
