Bio
Dr. Toshav received his B.A. from Dartmouth College and went on to receive his medical
degree at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA. He stayed in Philadelphia
to complete his internship and radiology residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center,
where he was Chief Resident. He then completed a fellowship in Abdominal Imaging and
Interventional Radiology at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Dr. Toshav is
board certified by the American Board of Radiology.
Committees & Administrative Responsibilities
In his academic capacity, Dr. Toshav is interested in Quality and Medical Education.
As Radiology Residency Program Director, he has spearheaded the department’s Quality
Assurance and Initiative Committee and also serves on the LSU Equip Steering Committee,
a hospital-wide initiative that reviews ongoing QA/QI programs and provides oversight.
The department’s QA/QI projects have been presented at multiple national organization
meetings including the American College of Graduate Medical Education’s annual meeting,
the Association of University Radiologists’ annual meeting, and the American College
of Radiology’s annual Quality and Safety meeting. He also serves on the LSU Advisory
Committee on Continuing Medical Eduation, the LSU Graduate Medical Education Committee
and on the Faculty Development Ad Hoc Committee of the Association of Program Directors
in Radiology, a national organization.

Clinical
Dr. Toshav enjoys education, research and is committed to academic and clinical quality.
He is the Academic Director of Abdominal Imaging and has a special interest in advanced
MRI imaging of the prostate as well as MR enterography. He has multiple ongoing research
projects with both residents and medical students. In his clinical capacity he serves
on and helped to create the joint Radiology-Gastroenterology imaging conference along
with the Tulane and LSU departments of Gastroenterology. He also serves as co-course
director for the LSU Genitourinary Oncology conference, a multidisciplinary conference
that brings together the departments of urology, pathology, radiation oncology, hematology
and oncology as well as radiology.
