Bio
Dr. Dewenter has been a member of the faculty at LSU Health Sciences Center – New
Orleans for over 15 years. She currently serves as an Associate Professor of Clinical
Pathology and the Ronald Welsh, MD Endowed Professor of Pathology. She also serves
as the Director of Surgical Pathology at University Medical Center – New Orleans.
In addition to her clinical duties, Dr. Dewenter instructs pathology residents on
surgical pathology and cytopathology, as well as participates in didactive teaching
and pathology case presentations at various Multidisciplinary Tumor Boards.
She is a fellow of the American Society for Clinical Pathology, and a member of the
American Society of Cytopathology and the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology.
She was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society in 2002.

in 2015, Pathology Resident Lecture of the Month in 2015
