Bio
Dr. Bhandutia is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in spinal surgery.
He grew up in southeastern Pennsylvania and graduated from the prestigious accelerated
BS-MD program in conjunction with Penn State and Jefferson Medical College. He completed
residency training at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA followed by the
completion of two fellowships in the field of spine surgery. The first was completed
at University of Maryland Medical Center in conjunction with R. Adams Cowley Shock
Trauma Center, followed by the Spine and Spinal Cord Injury Fellowship at Case Western
University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. He had previously worked in a multi-specialty
orthopaedic surgery practice in the state of New Jersey prior to working in an academic
capacity at Louisiana State University.
Dr. Bhandutia first and foremost believes in the maintenance of patient mobility and
wants to return patients to their optimal function. Influenced by his mentors, he
practices evidence-based medicine and believes in the most minimal operation to reach
the maximum effect. He feels the most gratifying part of medical practice is returning
people to their best possible function. He takes great pride in treating patients
like family.
Dr. Bhandutia enjoys caring for a multitude of spinal conditions, including degenerative
pathology, radiculopathy, myelopathy, spinal cord compression, spinal tumors, deformity,
and including complex situations such as patients in need of revision spinal surgery.
He is also involved in resident education and has a vested interest in raising the
next generation of orthopaedic surgeons.
