Bio
Lisa M. Peacock MD is the Chair and Section Head of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Urology at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. She received her Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of South Alabama and completed residency and fellowship training at Emory University in Atlanta. She continued on as a full-time faculty at Emory becoming Associate Professor, Director of the Division of Benign Gynecology and Section Head of Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery. In addition she maintained a private practice with The Emory Clinic and served as Co-Director of the Emory Continence Center. She subsequently spent over a decade in private practice at Northside Hospital in Atlanta where she developed a very strong robot pelvic reconstruction program which included off and on site teaching, proctoring and live tele-surgery conferencing. Dr. Peacock has been recognized for excellence in teaching having received the National Faculty Award for Excellence in Resident Education. She was responsible for the creation of the first Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery department and fellowship program at Emory and has trained many medical students, residents and fellows. In addition to formal teaching, Dr. Peacock lectures both locally, nationally, and internationally at postgraduate courses for practicing gynecologists in particular for the acquisition of surgical skill in complicated vaginal surgery and robotic pelvic reconstruction. She has been involved in a number of programs to educate the public regarding women's health particularly as it pertains to incontinence and prolapse. She currently maintains a private practice within the LSU Health Network at both the LSU St. Charles Avenue clinic, as well as the Metairie location. Dr. Peacock was selected as Interim chairman in 2014 and permanent Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans in 2016.
