Dr. Kimiyo Harris-Williams is an esteemed Associate Professor of Pediatrics at LSU
Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. She also serves as the Division Head of the
Ambulatory Division within the LSU Department of Pediatrics and as the Medical Director
of the LSUHSC School Based Health Center. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from Louisiana
State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, completing her degree between
July 1994 and May 1998. Following her graduation, Dr. Harris-Williams pursued residency
in Pediatrics at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, training at
the Children’s/Charity/University Hospital Campus in New Orleans from July 1998 to
August 2001.
Since 2019, Dr. Harris-Williams has been actively involved in the NIH All of Us Research Program. She created and developed engagement strategies and programs, supervised,
trained, and managed a team of over 300 ambassadors, volunteers, and Citywide Coordinators
across the country. She also served as a thought strategist for the Delta Research
and Educational Foundation Research Matters for All of Us Initiative, funded under the NIH All of Us Research Program. Also, Dr. Harris-Williams has served the program by serving as
Chair of the LSUHSC All of Us Research Program Healthcare Provider Organization Advisory Board from 2020 to 2022
and as a member of the Research Scholars Program Advisory Board from 2022 to 2024.
She serves as a NIH All of Us Research Program Pediatric Champion on the program’s Steering and Executive Committees.
Moreover, Dr. Harris-Williams serves as a member of the LSU School of Medicine Council
on Student Professional Conduct and the Grant for Research on Health Care Disparities
Committee. Her contributions to women’s health were recognized by the South-Central
Region of Jack and Jill of America, Inc., honoring her during Women’s Health Month
in March 2022. From July 2019 to December 2023, she was the Women’s Health Section
Coordinator and Editor for the Lovin’ Louisiana Blog, an initiative of the Louisiana
First Foundation.
Dr. Harris-Williams has made significant contributions to research and scholarship,
particularly in assisting to secure substantial grants and contracts. She has served
as a Medical Consultant for NIH-funded projects, with funding amounts including $300,000
for the 2019-2020 period, and $600,000 to $1.3 million annually from 2020 to 2023.
Her work continues to impact the medical community and beyond, highlighting her commitment
to advancing pediatric care and women's health initiatives.
