Dr. Caroline Roth is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Louisiana State
University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. She earned her Bachelor of Science
from Clemson University in 2009 and her Doctor of Medicine from the University of
Tennessee Health Science Center in 2017. Dr. Roth completed her Pediatric Residency
at Eastern Virginia Medical School and LSU Health Sciences Center. She then went on
to complete a Pediatric Hospital Medicine Fellowship at Louisiana State University
Health Sciences Center as the program’s first fellow.
Dr. Roth is active in medical education and currently serves in the role of Clerkship
Director in the Department of Pediatrics at LSU. She is highly involved in curriculum
development, including the development of curricula on social determinants of health
and on care of adolescent patients for medical students. In addition, she is the faculty
mentor for trainee projects on improving language concordance of return precautions
for patients with a Spanish language preference, standardizing evaluation and management
of abnormal uterine bleeding, and implementing a resident tracheostomy skills workshop.
Her clinical work focuses on Pediatric Hospital Medicine, where she serves as a teaching
physician at the Children's Hospital New Orleans. Dr. Roth is board certified in both
General Pediatrics and Pediatric Hospital Medicine and is a dedicated member of several
professional organizations, including the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Council
on Medical Student Education in Pediatrics, and the Academic Pediatric Association.
