Dr. Julie Gallois serves as an assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics
in the Division of Neonatology. Her journey in the medical field began at Louisiana
State University Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC), where she earned her undergraduate
degree in nursing before advancing through medical school, pediatric residency, and
a neonatal-perinatal fellowship—all at LSUHSC. She also held the position of chief
resident for LSU Pediatrics from 2015 to 2016. Dr. Gallois is certified in both neonatal-perinatal
medicine and general pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics.
In addition to her clinical and academic roles, Dr. Gallois is deeply committed to
quality improvement in healthcare. She serves as the LCMC Physician Director of Quality
Improvement for Neonatology and oversees the pediatric fellowship quality improvement
curriculum. Her professional interests also include breastfeeding medicine, in which
she is actively engaged in advocacy and education.
Julie chose to work in the NICU because she is dedicated to making a significant impact
on the lives of patients and their families, striving to provide care that is both
skilled and empathetic.
