Dr. Gajewski is an accomplished Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics in Pediatric
Cardiology and Electrophysiology. She currently serves as the Associate Director of
the Heart Center, the Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship Program Director, and Director
of Electrophysiology.
Dr. Gajewski began her academic journey with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering
from the University of Miami, graduating in 1998. She continued her education at Johns
Hopkins University School of Medicine, where she earned her Doctor of Medicine degree
in 2002. Following medical school, Dr. Gajewski completed a residency in General Pediatrics
at Johns Hopkins in 2005, followed by Pediatric Cardiology and Pediatric Electrophysiology
fellowships at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
Dr. Gajewski is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics with a sub-board
certification in Cardiology, achieved in November 2010. Additionally, she holds certification
as a Pediatric Electrophysiology Specialist from the International Board of Heart
Rhythm Examiners, obtained in October 2020.
Beyond her clinical and academic responsibilities, Dr. Gajewski is actively involved
in various institutional committees. Most recently, she has served on both the Faculty
Assembly and Faculty Senate and remains an active member of the Women’s Affairs Committee
at LSU School of Medicine. She also held the position of Secretary/Treasurer for the
Medical Executive Committee for Children’s Hospital Medical Staff from 2019 to 2021.
Through her dedication to patient care, education, and institutional service, Dr.
Gajewski continues to make significant contributions to the field of pediatric cardiology
and electrophysiology.
