Bio
Dr. Richard Wells is a board-certified physician specializing in Pulmonary and Critical
Care medicine. His area of interest is Pulmonary Hypertension where he is an integral
member of the Comprehensive Pulmonary Hypertension Center at the University Medical
Center. Dr. Wells is originally from the Bahamas and completed his medical degree
at the University of Glasgow in Scotland. He has long-standing ties to New Orleans
having completed his pulmonary critical care fellowship at Tulane University School
of Medicine. Dr. Wells completed the pulmonary vascular disease fellowship at Stanford
University and has treated pulmonary hypertension patients for over 10 years. He is
passionate about academic medicine and epidemiological research in pulmonary hypertension.
In his free time Dr. Wells enjoys swimming, playing basketball and spending time with
his wife and children.
