Bio
Shelby MacRae is a specialist in pulmonary and critical care medicine. With a medical
degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch and medical training at both Tulane
University and LSU Health Sciences Center, she specializes in non-cystic fibrosis
bronchiectasis and non-tuberculous mycobacterium (NTM).
As director of the Environmental Lung Disease/Bronchiectasis/NTM Program at LSU/UMC,
Dr. MacRae leads initiatives to advance diagnosis and treatment. She actively participates
clinical trials and conducts scientific research in NTM and bronchiectasis.
Dr. MacRae is also dedicated to medical education, training students, residents, and
fellows in both inpatient and outpatient settings in pulmonary medicine and in the
medical intensive care unit.
