Bio
Pedro R. Cox, MD, MPH, FACC, FSCAI is specializes in Interventional Cardiology. His
clinical interests include percutaneous management of complex coronary, endovascular
interventions and structural/valvular heart disease. He is the Medical Director of
Structural Heart Valve Programs of LCMC.
Dr. Cox earned a bachelor’s in arts from the University of Michigan, a Master in Public
Health with a concentration in Heath Policy from The George Washington University
School of Public Health, and an Medical Doctor degree from UCC School of Medicine
where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
Dr. Cox completed an internal medicine residency at a Harvard Medical School affiliated
hospital, a Cardiology fellowship at the UPR School of Medicine, an Interventional
Cardiology fellowship at the University of Florida College of Medicine and an Advance
Interventional Cardiology/Structural Heart Interventions fellowship at the Ochsner
Medical Center in New Orleans, LA. Dr. Cox is a fellow of the American College of
Cardiology, and a Fellow of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions.
He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Echocardiography, Interventional
Cardiology, and Endovascular Interventions. He has published multiple original manuscripts
in high impact peer review journals as well as several chapters in major cardiovascular
textbooks.
