I appreciate your visit to Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center Section of Gastroenterology Web site. Our section includes three clinical practice sites based University Medical Center, Ochsner Medical Center - Kenner, and Touro Infirmary. Each of these sites serves as a center for gastroenterology fellowship training as part of our routine patient care activities. In addition to a growing number of full-time faculty, the LSU Gastroenterology Section is complemented by a large number of adjunctive and volunteer faculty. This diverse group of physicians are able to provide specialized care for our patients as well as specialized fellowship training experiences at neighboring institutions such as Ochsner Medical Center, Tulane Medical Center, and West Jefferson Hospital . As Section Chief, I am delighted to oversee the expanding growth of our gastroenterology program which now offers fellowship training and patient care in a number of subspecialty areas of digestive disease including small bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), therapeutic endoscopy and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) (http://www.umcno.org/IBD). It is an exciting time to work in the LSU system. Please contact me with any questions or comments regarding the activities of our section.
