Details:  We have developed a novel treatment for cancers that overexpress voltage-gated sodium channels. We stimulate the VGSCs using a pulsed electric field, while simultaneously pharmacologically blocking sodium pumps. By overloading the cancer cells with sodium, we cause an osmotic lysis. Non-cancerous cells, with fewer VGSCs, do not lyse.
