Complex Spine Surgery: All aspects of Spine Surgery, from routine neck/back pain, disc surgery to complex spinal fusions, and spinal

endoscopic surgeries can often minimize the trauma in painful conditions. Advanced pain techniques such as
neuromodulation can often treat painful spine conditions that have not been treatable at other institutions.

Functional Neurosurgery:Functional Neurosurgery is practiced at West Jefferson Medical Center. This program has a broad scope with a strong
emphasis in Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) for movement disorders such as Parkinson's disease. Recently, the Food and
Drug Administration (FDA) approved the first surgery for psychiatric indications with approval of Vagus Nerve Stimulation
or Treatment of Refractory Depression, which has led to strong cooperation with the LSU Psychiatry Department.

Pediatric Neurosurgery:We offer a full spectrum of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Children's Hospital. General Pediatric Neurosurgery, as well as
specialty clinics such as the spasticity program and a comprehensive epilepsy program exist there. In cooperation
with Pediatric Neurology, this creates a rich academic environment with an emphasis on developmental neurology.
