CLERKSHIP FOR MEDICAL STUDENTS

The LSU Family Medicine Residency Program in Lafayette provides clerkships for third- and fourth-year medical students. Students actively participate in patient care, including performing procedures, under the supervision of Family Medicine residents and faculty. Clerkships are available for Family Medicine Ambulatory care, Acting Internship, Procedures, Sports Medicine, and Geriatric Medicine.

In most circumstances, we can accommodate two- or four-week rotations. The program can arrange housing accommodations. We can also arrange for a one-day visit. Contact Dr. Wayne Cestia at (337) 261-6690 or e-mail wcesti@lsuhsc.edu for scheduling details.

UMC is the remote site for the LSUHSC Rural Scholars Track. These students perform the majority of their clinical rotations here.
